Joel Heffner

Joel Heffner has been writing and speaking for more than 40 years. He started when he was a middle school teacher. Now that he is retired he devotes him time doing what he likes best…speaking to groups and writing articles. He has has spoken to a variety of groups…from flower clubs to tech conferences. Over the years he has written a book (on wedding photography) as well as articles that have been published in such diverse publications as the New York Times, Speaker Magazine (the magazine of the National Speakers Association, and The Gazette (the magazine of the American Kennel Club). Dumb Is Good tells the strange story of how a publisher asked me to write a book when I had no previous writing experience.
